welcome

blog{ART} is all about creating unique blog designs for YOU. I create beautiful blogs for anyone, and specialise in photographers blogs, and e-commerce solutions. Custom blog installation and design starts at $250USD. This includes installation of wordpress as your blogging platform, and a gorgeously unique, fabulous blog design that is all YOU - not an adaptation of a theme. Of course I can also customise and adapt any theme that you have your heart set on if you so desire. It is your blog - do what YOU want.

spruce up for Holly McCaig

by kylie ~ March 2nd, 2010

I met Holly online AGES ago.  She is a fabulous person, designer, photographer and all-round nice gal.  She is in the middle of updating her site: Holly McCaig Designs using the ProPhoto theme.  The Prophoto Theme in itself is fairly customisable, BUT Holly wanted to go a few steps further and make it REALLY unique.  Enter blog{ART}.

I can’t link you to the site itself yet…. but here is a sneak peak…..

Looking forward to it going LIVE!

SEO for bloggers…

by kylie ~ February 8th, 2010

The fabulous Shannon has created a bloggers SEO masterpiece!  The SEO Fieldguide for bloggers!  SEO is super important, and something that photographers can struggle with, but Shannons guide spells it out S.L.O.W.L.Y. and makes it super easy.  Whip on over and check it out – definitely worth the money if you are looking to rank super high in google searches!

a little tweaking…..

by kylie ~ January 30th, 2010

I am undergoing a little tweaking here at blog{ART} – some streamlining and completion of some very cool blogs- so please excuse my absence (that and a newborn + three super active older children) seem to be eating into my blogging time!

sneak peek…

by kylie ~ January 22nd, 2010

A quick sneak peek at the next blog(ART) to be launched – this week!

It’s been a little busy here of late – four weeks ago I gave birth to my fourth little girl – Milla Macey, and I am still adjusting to life with four children.  really – it’s not too bad – similar to having three – the kicker is all the time spent sitting feeding.  ARGH – it takes so long – as much as I LOVE feeding her – could she eat a little quicker!

Oh oh – and CONGRATULATIONS to Leah – she is launching her design store today with a huge sale!  Get on over there!

introducing Stacia Shaw

by kylie ~ January 5th, 2010

The lovely Stacia Shaw asked me to create a simple (but still gorgeous) blog for her.  I love Stacia’s photography – so beautiful – and her colour is magnificent – not to mention her newborn images. Whip on over and visit Stacia’s blog, and leave her some loving!  She has a fabulous competition running at present – so go and subscribe to win yourself a Target voucher!

Happy New Year!

by kylie ~ January 4th, 2010

It’s 2010 – finally I get a chance to whip on over here and say hello! 2009 was a big year for me – we welcomed our fourth child into the world on December 21st, I finally whittled down my blog{ART} waiting list, my family grew up way too fast, I won a major photography competition, we became the proud owners of a massive caravan that awaits our traveling pleasure – things are great.

SO – I am reopening the blog{ART} wait list. There will be a super special coming up in the next few weeks – keep your eyes peeled.

As for this blog – subscribe for all the super stuff that’s going to be launching here soon!

password protecting theConcierge as a whole

by kylie ~ February 24th, 2009

There may be times where you would like to password protect theConcierge.  You may prefer it if no-one can access any of your business information unless you allow them by giving them access.  You can do this quite easily using the Members Only plugin.  (of course there are other ways of doing it – but this is nice and simple – I am all about simple!).  You may download and install the members only plugin by following the instructions, OR you can utilise the add new plugin area withing your wordpress dashboard.

addplugin

You need to search for ‘members only‘.

membersonly

The next screen will show you a list of plugins that have been found – install members only (by Andrew Hamilton).

Once installed you can then activate and configure it.

membersonly02

Once configured – you may test to see if it works by logging out of your site and then trying to access it.  You will be resented with a login screen.  Just use your admin details to login.

Super.  That’s all very well – but you will not want to hand out your admin login details to all of your clients!  You will need to create a user account for each client or person that you want to allow access to your site.  you may do this through your dashboard > users > add new.  Make sure you give them the role of SUBSCRIBER.  Once you have set up a new user account – send the login details to that person.  When they wish to view your site – they will need to login first. They will NOT be able to access your dashboard at all – they will only be able to view your site.
